Matt Done, an English language specialist from Malta, visited IFL in the last week of October. He gave a lecture-seminar for IFL lecturers “Bridging Research and Practice: What SLA Principles Can Teach Us About Effective Language Teaching Or Fun with Fundamentals”. In this interactive workshop, participants discussed currently used methods and classroom practices. Then it was explored what SLA research tells us about how languages are learned, before discussing practical ways to apply — or maximise — these principles in teaching.
During the visit, the guest also met with the IFL administration, discussed possibilities for further cooperation, and was interested in Lithuanian culture and history.
