Over the last decade, a huge amount of papers referring to Web 2.0 learning environments have been published; Countless learning resources free of charge have been made available in the educational sector. Why would a database supporting Language Learning Partnership be useful?
As we understand learning as a process of cooperation and self-organisation, we have been searching for a way to enable students to study outside of their classrooms in a more autonomous way. Collaborative teaching and learning have emerged as significant concepts within the field of language education. A language learning partnership (LLP) might be an effective way to learn collaboratively in face-to-face meetings. Consequently, students not only learn language from their partners, but they also gain significant cultural insight for the benefit of both participants. Transferring the idea of LLP into a virtual context, it is important to consider what would work well and in which areas students would need additional assistance.
